Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Must be some of Michelle's turkey eggs.........turkeys lay speckled eggs and since she's mailing them now for the hatch that would mean they are eggs with a 28 day incubation instead of the 21 day chicken egg incubation...........so turkey eggs! I think she has a few of a couple different varieties. When she gets back from the PO she can tell what kind they are!!

Ahh, very wise grasshopper!

Does quoting Kung Fu from the 70's make me a geek or just old? Is the fact that my first glance mentally said................"turkey" ......make me a geek or just fit in here?

Maybe she needs some help getting that bed back to dry land! Perhaps SCG should drag her back to Kansas where she belongs...those kids need their Momma!!

Drag her to this end of Kansas so she can drop off the peas to me!!

I'll pick them up next week, otherwise!

Thank you! My brother named half and I named half. They are like four or so weeks old now, maybe five. Unfortunately, the coop isn't done yet. Mum made it too wide and we won't be able to get it through the gate until she fixes it and it just isn't done yet because Mum had pneumonia. RUN ON SENTENCE! Wooo!

Sorry your mom had pneumonia! That's horrible! Back to your question from before, it's best not to hatch just one, because they get soooooo lonely they cry all the time and it makes you nuts. You should hatch 4 or 5, because some won't hatch and you'll have less risk of having a lonely-only.

I'm back, Here's the new swing/roost

It appears to work

And now I must to so I can mail some eggs that will be part of this hatch-a-long.

Are those turkey eggs? They're very pretty! I suppose I should get my eggs together soon for my swap partner, but I'll ship next Saturday or the following Monday. My partner will be getting the 21-day kind, not the 28!

Ok so all this time in my mind Mahonri was Mah roni like rice a roni, lol until I just noticed that I was thinking it wrong every time I thought about the hatch. Just want to tell you all.

and I am marking my place

those speckled eggs are beautiful!! what breeds lay those? i've even been thinking about getting some quail just for the egg colors.

If you mean the eggs in my basket, they are blue slate turkey eggs. I'm sending them to a friend who is going to use them for part of this hatch. Hopefully

the postal service is kind to them

Your powers of deduction are awesome! And I do have a royal palm hen and a midget white hen but my only tom is the blue slate and he has 5 blue slate hens in with him (lucky guy)

Maw-hawn-rye ... there... does everyone have it straight?

There are two similar contests.

The one for the BRINSEA Incubator is "How many chicks will we ALL hatch?"

The other one is sponsored by one of our wonderful hatch-a-long members, CayuseRanch How many eggs will we all set?
