Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

I just set 19 mixed eggs to hatch. Most of the eggs are from ee hens and a few are from my Welsummer hen. The dads could be RIR, SLW, ee or Maran. Sould make for an interesting mixture...

On a side note I have 20 week old chicks in the brooder. 4 Black Australorps, 4 buff orpingtos, and 12 red sex links. All are doing well and feathering out nicely.

We have 24 broilers almost 2 1/2 weeks old as well. Started w/ 50 and the stupid things kept smothering eachother. These are A&M birds my daughters are raising for our county fair.

Didn't adjust thermostat cause I had a 99.5 reading at the bottom of the tray so I'm hoping
the Eco 20's thermometer is just a tad warm.

My egg count just went up again. Dad told me to throw in whatever was left from what I collected for the hatch. I'm now up to 26 pure RIR and still at 12 BA/RIR. Then later I'll be adding in the crazy EE mix of 24 eggs from my neighbor. That makes.....62 plus whatever the girls lay today.

Wow this is my biggest hatch EVER.

OMG! I went out to grab some eggs and dropped another Lav AM!

I finally got everything set at 12:54, but I have girls on the nests, so may be adding a couple more. That is if I can hold on to them. Wish my stipid hand would work. And I rushed through lockdown, so I have to go back and figure out how many I put in there.

So my total as of right now is 97 and maybe one or 2 more if they hurry up.

Starting to smell like corned beef in here. mmmmmmmm

Yay!! They are the cutest little chicks. I still love the pic of Little Gomez that SCG posted on the NYD thread.

Thanks AK Michelle. I was on my kindle Fire and had hit the button multiple times but when it came to posting I lost them all. I was not going to go back and reread all 20 pages to find them again lol.
