That said, I was glad to find out this morning that all of the equipment is still in working order. Looking forward to a great hatch!

Did that help? Just passing the love around! We're going to be alright, do what you can and let the rest take care of itself....... it will work out (one way or the other.)

The temperature WILL drop because the eggs aren't up to heat yet - don't adjust the incubator temp for 24 hours after setting eggs!

I'm setting late because I can't find the humidity paper for my Octagon 20 incubators! AAAUUGGGHH! <*tearing the house apart, looking in boxes*>

You sound like me. I even broke a corner off of a holder. Had to just give up and set with my cartons, because I couldn't get the eggs to stay between pgs and was affraid of braking even more eggs.

Hope you hunt is short. How's your leg doing today?

The eggs are all set here.

18 shipped AM's
12 shipped Marans
3 of my Blue Slates
10 shipped AM's
38 of my Icelandics

That's 81 eggs, and without the turner I didn't have to stack. Since the majority are shipped I will turn by hand so the shipped eggs can just rest. I have three thermometers in there, two of which are also hygrometers.

I have just the central chamber filled with water. I'm going to read Renee's dry hatch directions but our relative humidity is only 16% which I think is less than optimal so I will keep water in just the smallest chamber for now.

One of the thermometers goes to a reader in the house so I can check the temp/humidity from the kitchen.

Now the question is, which will come first, the chicks hatching or the snow going?

Oh my gosh. I never thought of that. That little motor does throw out the heat. I just rearranged mine so I have 3 inches between the motor and any egg. Is that enough?

Sherrie this is the spacing that the manufacturer built into this turner

See the "blank" where another egg cup could go? If yours is about the same size, you should be fine.

Linda, could you use folded paper towels until you can find the paper? You know, just to get things rolling?
ETA - or maybe some kind of card stock?
