Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

I forgot to add a pic!

Before I added 4 more and the egg song is still being sung, so I'll be added more I hope. No chance of breaking another lav AM egg though, cause I've already broken all their eggs.

Yep... but I guess **** happens... I sure hope all is well with them... but I am peeved about being short on my eggs!! They could have made the difference on winning the hatch rate contest!! LMAO!!!

Ok, so the hot spot issue was remedied with the turning off of the fan...so I'm back to still air. So am I correct in that the top of the eggs is 101, middle of eggs should be 100 and bottoms 99? And if so, how do you stack, because the ones on top would have a different heat level wouldn't it? So can you stack in a still air?

And here's a funny little story. I have 3 pullets I'm trying to convince to start laying for me. One barred rock mix looks ready from everything i've ready but she still mostly chirps and the other 2 have been clucking for a long time. I decided to add some cayenne pepper to their food, and accidentally dumped too much in. Didn't think it'd be a problem since I read they don't have the heat receptors. The moment she took a bite, she lets out this squawk, cluck sound. And before my eyes, my little girl hit puberty!! LOL...ok not really. She did squawk cluck after every bite, but the next day she was back to her chortle chirp. And still no eggs.

Finally caught up! I forgot to take a pic when I set them, so will do that tomorrow. I have a full turner! I did see a couple pics where people still have space in their gators, they must be late joiners and weren't effected by the enablers.

Space in our gators? You mean this?

all your babies hatch this time!

Oh my gosh. I never thought of that. That little motor does throw out the heat. I just rearranged mine so I have 3 inches between the motor and any egg. Is that enough?

BEAUTIFUL... But a little secret I've learned... you stack the egg that's next to the turner motor, because it's just TOO WARM there and the egg won't make it. I always leave that spot empty... (even though in my start pick I had one there.. It's since been moved and stacked)
