Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Uh-oh....only 6 of my 7 eggs can be seen. I don't think I can get a pic of all 7 in the Brinsea mini adv.
I hope I don't get DQed.

It's been a COLD day today. First rain we have gotten in like 5 months.
Cold? It is snowing here right now. You and DH (he is in Yuma) are NOT ALLOWED to say it is cold in AZ. I had to stop him this morning from saying the exact same thing. OOOOOOO you all might have had to put on long pants and sweaters today OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

On a more serious note, I really do hope the burn is feeling better today

I am the same way. last five hatches 25 girls and 1 boy

What most of us would give for odds like that!! I had a hatch of 10 out of 12 shipped FBCMs last year and got 8 roos!!

Yup... it will be unbearable for a few months.. JUNE, JULY & AUGUST.

Thank the good Lord for AC and a swimming pool.

That is when the rest of us are glad we don't live in Phoenix!!! I am super jealous of the fresh garden veggies right now though!!

BTW I learned today that Drivers Licenses in Arizona are issued with an expiration date of Age 65

Now I know plenty of people that are middle aged (65 +) that are excellent drivers and very responsible but the thought of some people I know in their 20s having a drivers license they don't have to renew for 40+ years is a scary thought!!!

Actually it is a wonderful thing. You don't have to go down to the DMV every 3 - 5 years. You also don't have to bring all the "pedigree" papers that are required here in Utah. First time I went to go get mine here it was social security card, birth certificate, proof of Utah residence (like a utility bill with your address) and your out of state license. In a few years when I have to renew it, I will have to bring it all again except the out of state license. Of course they were only open Monday through Thursday at the time as well. I think that has changed though. Geez

I candled my 8 turkey eggs tonight and 7 are dancing away!!! the last one had a blood ring... I'm excited since these are from my birds and are my first eggs...

and that bodes really well for the turkey hatch after this one. I wish I had time to check fertility on mine before I send them out to SCG. I might just have to crack one of the ones I am saving for me (going to send her the freshest ones) and see if I can tell. Just really hard to break one of those eggs on purpose.

"Small Batch Best Hatch Rate
This contest is for those hatching less than 24 eggs - we don't want to punish those who have not caught the Big Batch Fever yet!
Hatch contestants may set up to 23 eggs. Post a picture on set day showing the number of eggs you have set and also fill out the hatching spreadsheet with that amount. These eggs may be under a broody or in an incubator. You must post your picture and your number in the spreadsheet by Monday, March 19th to be entered in the contest. When the hatch is over, post one picture showing clearly the number of chicks you hatched and fill out the spreadsheet. You must have your pictures and spreadsheet filled out by 3 days after hatch date. Best hatch rate wins! In the event of a tie, the winner will be chosen by random drawing.
Prize: a 6 month GFM"

Where do I find the hatching spreadsheet??

Wow, I'm finally caught up and it's almost bedtime!
