Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

lol Kathy!

You think you want rain to go away? I see a forecast of several straight days of sun. . . . I'd give an arm for that.

Come live out here and then you'll know true rain/flood/moonsoon depression.

Here is my entry for the most ingenious chicken design contest.
It is a "dickie" for a friend's rooster. The hens were always plucking out his neck feathers so my friend asked if I could create something to cover his neck area. This is what I came up with.

Oh and Kathy, Empty nest syndrome?? I don't have it, my husband does

I'm seriously depressed. I've been tring everything since Thursday to keep my mind off of it, but I just can't. There's a horse free to an experianced horseperson in the local bulletin board and I wish I could get him, but I can't afford feed for another horse. I have my mustang gelding to feed as it is, but I wish I could afford to get the horse from the bulletin board. The add says that if no one takes him, they'll have him put down. I saw that and started bawling. I went on the site to look for a puppy and there he was again. This time with 4 pics. He's beautiful and I'd hate to see that happen to him, but I just can't afford to get him.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to find under this link, but here he is. http://www.thebulletinboard.com/Search.aspx?category=15000&search=free

I can't help it. I'm a sucker for an animal that needs a good home where it will be loved for the rest of it's life.

Why? We have 12! LOL...the>>>His, mine, and ours thing. It was tough at first, but it's great now. The kids all consider each other brother and sister, and I am not the wicked witch of the west anymore. His kids tell me they are happy I came along when I did. They tell me they love me.

We all get along really well..only have one left at home, that would be the "ours." He will be gone by the end of the year. Can't believe I had him at my age, but glad I did. Finally getting that empty nest syndrome with having 32 grandchildren between us.

Wow! I wouldn't mind having more but DH didn't want any to begin with and when he married me he got three. But he is a good dad and we are all pretty content (I think he just doesn't want to have to ever change a diaper!)

Do you have a local organization that takes in animals that are surrendered. Perhaps you can help the horse owner give the horse up to a no-kill organization.
