I did send out PM's yesterday and had quite a few people respond or submit form, so some of these people may have dropped out. I can't even imagine how difficult it will be for Mahonri/Laree/and helpers to get the final number of chicks hatched!

Maybe send a PM to those on the list, with a link to the form. It is easy to do with the new PMs that can have multiple recipients.

Here is a pic of what I set, though it may be hard to count them. I'll take another when I get them separated into the now empty incubator.

I just have to ask? How do you turn those eggs? How long does it take..or are you tilting..and don't they go all over if you do?? That's a lot of eggs!

On a side note, got a call from the feed store about 30 min ago that the chicks I was wanting were there (Golden comets - great layers) so I ran over to grab some. Planned on getting 4-6 and am quite proud of myself. I kept saying...41 eggs in the incubator...41 eggs in the incubator...control yourself. Walked away with 6 Golden comet and just had to grab 2 fluffy faces. I get an A- on self control. Here are the pics, they are keeping me company in the office till I go home around 5...hopefully these will help tame my impatience with the ones in the incubator.

I couldn't resist the temptation and I candled a couple of the eggs a little bit ago I did three, and probably would have done all of them if my flashlight hadn't decided to die. Oh well it is probably for the best. Two of the ones that i candled had veining (I think) and one of them I was confused about. It looked like it had a light half and a dark half? Anyway, I will wait a few days and get some new batteries and try it again.
But if I were smart, I would just let them be until lock down because I know I will be upset if there are bad ones

If I remember right, I think we had a couple of people setting Button Quail today! So today is the last day that anything would be set! So now it really is wait wait wait. Along those same lines, I almost have everyone tallied up on how many eggs were set and after the last few get put in today I will finish totalling them all up and announce a winner for the Number of eggs set contest! YAY!!!

So if you have not put your numbers on the participation form listed in post one, Please do so. Following is a list of who has not completed the participation form. Some of them are not BYC user names, ie the montesorri school. If you know anything about those, would you please pm me the numbers or do a participation form for them or let me know if they are included in your numbers. Otherwise, those eggs will not be included.

Yaay, my name isn't on the list anymore, but I just remembered something! I also set some Exchequer eggs the same time I set the ones I counted for this contest. 5 are viable. Oh well, that would me..because they are in a different incubator. If I count those 5, plus take away the three I had to throw out, that would make 34 eggs. See, I can do chicken math before the are hatched..wait..they haven't hatched yet, and I know better than to count my chicks before they hatch.

Saturday was day one Because they were all set at noon. If you set yours late in the evening then Sunday would be day one.
