I have had one with an exterior pip for at least 6 or 7 hours now. It was pipped when I got up this morning and occasionally I see it move, but I'm totally nervous.

On another note I do have this little guy pushing the others around

Don't worry - it can take up to 24 hours for them to hatch sometimes.

Yeah I have had some pip and then rest and then another one pips and hatches first. Don't worry if they are resting. They are just not quite ready to hatch yet. I have six pips now but no zips. I want them to hatch but not until they are ready. Had one pip, zip and hatch one time in less than half an hour. That chick was really ready to be out!

BTW - for those of you having problems posting (I have been having an issue on and off today) try previewing first. That seems to be helping me

"Holiday Poultry" Calendar Photo Contest
The goal is to make a poultry and holiday themed calendar. Submit your poultry related holiday pictures - all ranges of poultry age accepted. You will need to submit your photos on this thread as well as PM them to kathyinmo. Submission of your picture(s) to this thread and to kathyinmo means that you are giving permission to use your photo in a calendar printing. Photos must be taken by you, the entrant. Contest runs until Tuesday, April 10. Limit of 3 entries per person. Photos can be seen HERE. Please note which month-holiday you are submitting your photo for. This contest is for participants of the 3rd annual Easter Hatch only.
Prize: A calendar (made from the photos, if we have enough entries [12 months] to make one!)

Lots of pips, one zipping and zero chicks so far here. Gotta get the brooder warmed up... boyfriend finished the cold frame pieces this morning so when I went downstairs to grab the brooder light I got sidetracked with painting.

Just remembered I left the paint gallon open too... good thing I posted.

Just to reiterate..... for the calendar contest...... I REALLY want to focus on HOLIDAYS - events for this calendar. (Maybe I can make another calendar, with the focus on something else.....ummm, maybe "breeds?" or "chicks?") But, for this one.... here are a few examples of holidays-observances (I know there are others, too):

Holidays and Observances:
Jan: New Year's Day
Feb: Valentine's Day, Presidents' Day
March: St. Patrick's Day
Apr: Easter Sunday
May: Mother's Day, Memorial Day
