The fluffy butt beside her is a Silver Ameraucana x Speckled Sussex. (Question: If the rooster is SS and the hen is SA, is it "SS over SA" or "SA over SS"?)

Went outside to go gather some eggs so they don't freeze today and saw Mr. Cogburn and Whitey doing this:

I just can't figure out what those two crazy kids were up to. Both of them seemed perfectly happy to be like this.

LOL..I didn't know you still had him! He's gotten bigger, and more beautiful..and more..ummm...and more...ummm.. well aggressive? Bossy? Maybe friendly? A little mixed up? Anyway, that guy is Huge!

Got home from a fishing expedition.

22 out
7 left all piping, picked each one up I can hear peeping or scratching or feel movement in all 7.

So I am currently at 22/36 (hatched/set) ratio, or 22/30 (hatch/locked down) ratio. At this point the very best I can do is 29/36 (hatched/set) ratio.

DH has been known to cuddle and hold a one -and- only until a buddy is available!! I think he does it for the quiet!

7 of my little buggers have hatched out of 19. Yeay! Bator is still chirping.


I really need to find something to do....I've been pacing back and forth from the bator to the brooder all day.
