Quote: Thanks for this. I must have missed this step. I thought the tips said to close the vents at lockdown. When do you open the plugs? At the first pip or sooner?
I am pretty new to this but have been stagger hatching for two months now.
15 min after I pulled the plug on the Genesis both of the pipped eggs started to move towards zipping--cracks are forming and the holes are getting bigger.![]()

I never close mine. I threw them away. Most important that they have oxygen to hatch and survive. At least open them up the last couple days. Like I said, I don't close them at all, ever.

Is that the day they did maintance on the site at around 5pm? I hope it gets better. Look at that I think this thread is going to make it to 10000 posts!!!!!!!!!!Quote:
It's not my computer. Lot's of people have been reporting trouble since Thursday. Most people aren't having trouble. I've seen this before on other forums, I've never been one of the affected people before and now I can see how frustrating it is.

After over 24 hours of lazy duckies pipped and resting, they started zipping like crazy! We were so excited! And then.. I looked at the thermometer. At least 120*. I say "at least" because 120* is where it maxes out. I think a child may have fiddled with it. I unplugged the incubator immediately. Its now down to an appropriate temp and it wasn't that high for very long. Definitely under an hour, probably under half an hour. I heard occasionally peeping and saw movement when it was that high, but I haven't heard anything or seen movement in a while. Please.. please let them just be resting! Its just ominous to see a bill through the zip so clearly and no movement. How long can they survive with temps that high? Do you think the chickens that I set sunday night (so, due most likely tomorrow, unpipped) are toast?Yes ever since that day I have been having issues posting. If I remember to preview first it is not too bad, but half the time I forget and have to do the "workaround" again. Is that the day they did maintance on the site at around 5pm? I hope it gets better.

That would worry me too. I had the same thing happen my last hatch, it didn't go well

I'm thinking my heat spikes although didn't kill them did too much damage. WE'll see. a couple were set a on the 19th so they would be later regardless.
