Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Last year there was a picture of a hovabator with turner stacked full of eggs - maybe Mahonri's? Could I see that again? I am just wondering how many eggs I can plan on for that - I have a janoel to use for overflow, but I have to hand-turn those ones. I remember that there was a certain number beyond which the turner would no longer work.

I'd love to see that picture too. I was replacing the chick holders with the quail and did something wrong. Need to see how it is supposed to look

Today I:

Walked the munchkins a mile to school and pushed the littler one back.
Did laundry, the kitchen, and the livingroom.
Hauled another 5+ wheelbarrows of coop goo and compost to the compost pile.
Pulled carrots & weeds, picked pea pods.
Taught BamBam how to cut the peapods off with the baby scissors.
Planted onions, potatoes, carrots, peas, beans, fava beans.
Cleared space for more planting.
Pulled kholrabi and lettuce for dinner.

Took break. Ate PB and Marshmallow sandwich.

Then DH came home with 2 loads of sand. Put sand in run.
I cleaned the coop and nest boxes. Refilled nest boxes with shavings, DE, and shells.
Washed the Laree brooder.
Spread DE around coop and run. Contemplated dusting the yard.
Coughed and coughed and coughed.
Decided against it.
Realized silkie had hatched a baby.
Re-set up Laree brooder. Tried to put new momma and baby in Laree brooder.
Failed.
Returned baby & momma to grow out coop. Will try again after dark.
Took out all trash on property.
Buried a chicken in the coop sand. Took picture.
Realized I had prodigious amounts of poop in my hair.

Took Shower.
Ordered pizza. SOOO not cooking.

It WAS warm today. I think I have a sunburn.

Ok, back to Emu's. (Sorry, I do love them) Raffle for Emu eggs! Oh oh oh me me me !! If I got them as a gift maybe we could keep them. They can get along with goats right? I have 6 ft no climb horse fence for the goat pasture, probably 100 ft square.

No, no, no, me, me, me! I have a three acre pasture with 12 (well 19 if you count all the new lambs) dorper sheep (one more to deliver), 5 alpacas (4 preggers) & a llama. I think a couple of emus would fit right in.
