Hatched 4 turkeys today, 1st time hatching turkey. Pipped & Zipped in a few hours. Done !

Congratulations!

We considered Turkeys for this hatch, but decided on ducks.

My day was not as entertaining as yours. I did have a parent teacher conference for my daughter. And it seems that the teacher thinks she is near perfect. HA! Does my child have her fooled or what?!? She dave us a $1.00 off at the book fair and since I had bought the kids their books yesterday, I took it in and offered it to someone who might need a little extra help. They said they love me. Do I have them fooled or what?!?

While at the school I talked to my son's Pre-K teacher and she said they were learning about animals next week and I offered to bring in chicks....well it seems that she was raised on a farm and would love to buy some extra roos at butcher age. She said she really misses home grown fryers.

I have been leaving my NYD chicks cage door open to the main coop so they can start coming out on their own. Tonight I can not find one of them and it is COLD out there. I am not talking a chilly 40 degrees, I am talking a very windy 25 degrees that feels like 5 degrees, and it is supposed to get down to 7 degrees that feels like -15.

I have search for him everywhere and I cannot find him.

I think I actually have a CHOCOLATE FRIZZLE chick from your (Laree) eggs.

I set 57 eggs tonight. And locked down 35.

I didn't set any of my own EE eggs this time and I have a bunch!!!!

On Tuesday I was given 4 Pea Eggs to try and hatch. (I know that isn't today, but I haven't really told anyone and I am kinda excited)

I am forgetting what I read and meant to comment on...

Last year there was a picture of a hovabator with turner stacked full of eggs - maybe Mahonri's? Could I see that again? I am just wondering how many eggs I can plan on for that - I have a janoel to use for overflow, but I have to hand-turn those ones. I remember that there was a certain number beyond which the turner would no longer work.

Ummmmmm that first picture was my incubator last year. This year my Sportsman is nice and orderly.

And so far I am keeping it to only 2 trays for incubating.

I GOT A TURKEY POULT TODAY!!!!!!! MY FIRST NARRAGANSETT POULT!!! I HATCHED BOURBON RED TURKEYS LAST YEAR AND GOT HOOKED ON TURKEYS!!! I HAVE A CHICK TAPING AS WELL, I HOPE THE LAST TURKEY EGGS HATCHES OR THIS LITTLE POULT IS GOING TO HAVE A TURKEY CRISTS
