Caught up again. Not much to say. I think I may grovel at The Sheriff's virtual feet, with my PayPal account at the ready, because I'd love some Icelandic eggs. Not sure she'll let me buy 'em if I don't breed 'em true, though, if some hatch.

I might just set some of my own lovely mutt eggs.

I am in Kansas and the closest I am to Mary (The Sheriff) is when I am on the Icelandic thread.

Oh and some of her emu eggs came from about 15 miles from me.

Yes, my wife has an Aunt that lives in Placerville beautiflul up there. Even the same county as Auburn right?

I moved 2000 ft lower down the mountain and I do NOT miss the snow in the least. I used to wake up, hear that silence and think, "Great, another f......g winter wonderland" (excuse my almost language, but I had to do all my own shoveling).

But..............I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your photo. It was so nice of you to clear their path.

Thanks MrsMoonCat, NotAFarm, Kathyinmo, Debs_Flock, and SCG for the compliments on the picture. I just thought they were too cute marching back up to their coop. They came down to scratch around in the areas we had shoveled around the house and sun themselves on the deck. They also had a good-sized shoveled area up by the coop. It's all melted today, though, because it is 70 degrees!

She kind of looks like my blue heeler Binion. He's camera shy though and won't let me take a picture.

Yes, CayuseRanch, Talli is a blue heeler, too! 1muttsfan, Bella is gorgeous! She looks so sweet and playful! I love this breed. She's great with the chickens, too, and has actually learned not to herd them around the yard.

This is the sky this morning at our house..........we are under a Winter Weather Advisory for this evening and tonight....4-8 inches of snow and windy.......I just hope we don't lose power....I've got some eggs going in the 'bator!

I have arranged to have 15 EO Basque eggs delivered on March 16th. They are from Skyline in Tennessee and I am in California. Google says about 2300 miles.

These are rare in the US. There are some in Canada. They are even not too common in Spain.

They should be great chickens.

Sandhill has dorkings. They had some predation problems over the winter though, and I know some of the dorkings were affected. They also (usually) have black, red, colored, light grey, dark grey, silver grey, white, and some rosecombs. Wish there were someone around here that had Dorkings, I would love to get some rose comb birds to try out.

I also have Euskal eggs coming for the hatch, and so does Chestnut Ridge.

Yup! This is what I am most excited about. I've been over on the EO board since November, and I have learned so much about this breed! I think it is awesome that all three of us are hatching EOs for the Easter Hatch. James of Skyline has a large flock, I think around 50 birds, and he has been doing a great job breeding, promoting, and distributing them. I am getting 15 as well, but I bet his flock could lay for all three of us in one day! They are pretty prolific from what I have read.

I'm also getting 6 mixed eggs from the March swap as well as 6 Wheaten Marans and 6 RC Brown Leghorn. If the turner isn't full, I'll probably set some Speckled Sussex from my flock as well.

This is really pretty, SunnyDawn. I love the skyline and single star in the background with the warm colors of the foreground.

Someone mentioned having a secretary... I have outlook. Outlook tells me what to do and when at work as far as meetings and appointments go. I have a 4 page numbered to do list in order of importance on my desktop, too. At home, it's Post-Its.

I feel like I have early onset dementia, I have the memory of a gnat lately. Too much going on to keep any of it straight unless I write it down.

I used to live in Pollock Pines and had my 2nd child in Placerville. Originally from the Stockton/Lodi area. As with everyplace I couldn't believe how big PP & P had gotten last time I was there!
