Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

We have been enjoying a balmy 20-something for days (perhaps weeks - I've lost track) and this morning, the first of March, the month Spring starts, It's just 3*.

Really Mother nature? You couldn't let us hang out in the double digits, let us pretend winter is almost over. It's not nice to tease us like this.

Actually, truth be told we need a nice slow that or we are going to have monumental flooding. On the plus side, the higher than normal snowfall is going to restore some low water levels in area lakes.

Guess next time Kathy pays you a visit she will have to bring her camera and get us some pics of those projects you're building!!

I'll see if I can borrow a camera from someone...I'm really having the time of my life! The Konzas in this latest generation are hatching with perfect markings for being Silver Laced- totally unexpected and inexplicable! They're feathering out that way, as well. Very strange since none of the breeds or types that have gone into them should have contributed that coloring.

Kathy's son was the deliveryman for the trade yesterday- she sent me two Godzilla-sized 100% English Orp roos and a half-dozen eggs for me. What a fabulous lady, right???

I'm going to take cruddy pics with my phone today, anyway and see if I can't get some reasonable ones. Off I go!!

Well, I have the day off, so I'm going to attempt to post photos of my first entry for the egg art contest, called "Let Me Count the Ways". Sequential numbers 1 through 556, separated by commas:

Renee how can you ask for pictures if you can't post some of your own?

Can't wait to hatch some of those Konzas, silver laced or other color it doesn't matter. I like the way they look.

I'm going to have to do a search for Konzas, never heard of them.

I love the number egg!!

MAHONRI:---LEVIKA? REALLY?

(it is not that I think the name is stupid, I just can't believe you suggested it to a heavily pregnant woman who has face-to-face contact with your clients.)
