Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Breathe, Kim, breathe. I think if you get your temps down that will keep the other ones from getting sticky. What is the humidity at in the bator? Is it just the two eggs and how long have they been stuck?

Not sure how long. The other chick seems to be getting a little furture, so hopefully he'll make it out. I have that thing so packed with eggs I can't get a good look around, but I have another pip. I just don't know if I should add more water. I haven't used a humidifier since I started using ChooksChick's cheat sheet. I almost put one in but I think I wore them out in the past. They no longer change at all. LOL

I was having some awesome hatches and then back to this kind of thing. Getting a little tired of it.

Hoping the temp goes down soon. I'm adjusting only a little at a time.

Kim just keep doing what you are doing and watching. If you have another pip, I would just keep waiting and see how things go. If you have put enough water in there I wouldn't worry about humidity. I think your temp spike is probably what is causing your problem.

we are starting early. My silkie eggs got here and some are older, didn' t want to wait to put them in. high noon thursday! Ill pretend they are emus and hatched early :D

Finally caught up! I've been really busy today and haven't been at home much. The last 3 chicks hatched and as soon as I have the chance I'll take some pics of them.

We went to the feed store today as planned for feed and chicks, but they only had GSLs, which I don't want. Well, long story short, out chicks turned into THIS:

So frustrating and not one of my FBCM eggs has pipped. I set really late. so I'm not worried about time, but time in the shells. The one I was worried about is completely shrink wrapped now. The other is still trying but I can't see in enough to see if it is also wrapped. The other pip is still just a tiny pip. Nothing else moving in there as of yet.

Cute duck Raz

Went to the DR today for some "junk" in my lungs he gave me a zpack and some hydrocodone? cough syrup. Hopefully I'll feel better in a few days.

I already have 3 baby turkeys but since DH is now building me a turkey pen I could hatch some more. ;) next it will be emus.

You all broke USPS. I had a package sent yesterday and it won't give me info when I track it and I had another sent early today and still no info. I don't think they can handle the egg load. maybe we should inform them that they might be handling more fragile packages during the hatches than at christmas!!!

On another note, the girl that was going to hooke me up with turkey eggs said she will do so at a later date, so depending on when the turkey hatch a long is I might be game.

And do you need a coop for turkeys? Can I just let them free range without a coop or pen?

I would like to enter. I just started incubation for the first time this week with my new Brinsea, but I'm starting some Saturday with a borrowed one. I've got W/BW ameraucanas going now.

Well Kim, sounds like you have to make that hard decision if they are truely stuck. I am not going to advise you either way only because I think it is a personal decision. I know you know how to do whatever you decide to do. Keeping
