I hope I have enough eggs to put in lockdown for the 21st to fit all these eggs.

I have 41 from swaps and an order and I counted 43 on my kitchen table last night and the girls are still laying. This could get interesting.

I'm in. I set turkey eggs that are due april 7th, my son's birthday 15 of them.

Finally caught up I was at least 20 pages behind! There were a ton of posts I wanted to comment on and now forgotten

My EE's came today out of the 14 she sent 2 were smashed a 1 cracked

I am going to candle the remaining 11 soon and

the rest are good. I have 22 eggs so far and should get another 4-8 before set time Saturday

I am so glad to hear it, Mahonri. You will be feeling much better soon. I am jealous of all the eggs you are hatching, by the way! What a dream mix.

I am pleased with what I am setting as well. So far:

- 15 Basque Hen (Euskal Oiloa) eggs from Skyline; arrived yesterday, set at 6:40 pm EDT
- 4 of my mixed eggs (I need a control group, don't I?

) added at 9:00 EDT
- 6 swap egg (pretty scrambled, so we'll see) + 1 of my SS eggs for good measure under my sweet little broody

added at 9:15 or so - We'll see how she's doing with them tomorrow morning.

So, so far, I have "set" 26 eggs. Now, that is not technically included in my Easter Hatch, is it?

I also have 6+ RC Brown Leghorn, 6+ Blue Birchen Marans OR Barnevelders, and 6+ Cream Dutch Bantams arriving tomorrow or Saturday.

So, maybe 20 more or so?

Of course, I don't have all the breeds I need, but I must leave something for next year's Easter Hatch, right?

Welcome Hoppy! The Maine contingent is growing. I just wish my other eggs would arrive. I made a pathetic attempt at sanding my Marans eggs tonight. I only did half of them, because I was afraid I would do some kind of damage. If everyone could please just pause on posting for a while, I'm going to sleep. I hate to think about how much catching up I will have to do in the morning.

Not having a good day.

I was supposed to get eggs from 3 people, but hadn't heard from the 3rd since the first week of March, so I emailed her. Apparently, she's been really sick and didn't get them mailed out. I totally understand, and I'll still have, 25 (maybe), but this was the first time I was going to have a FULL bator. Received first batch yesterday (Araucanas), with extras

. Second person mailed eggs the 13th and they were supposed to be delivered today. According to tracking, they are still in Alabama . . . and I'm in Oregon. They might still make it.

Yesterday I turned on bator and all last night I fine tuned the temp (LG & really touchy). This morning it was perfect, when I can home from work at lunch it was perfect, but when I got home after work, it was at 79 and heating coil wasn't hot.

My DH said it just wasn't plugged in good, and it is now heating, but I would swear the fan was working when I go home, so how can the fan work and the coil not if it is a plug in problem??? In the process, he messed with the knob (like that was the problem???), so now back to adjusting. And now I'm scared to death that the darn thing will crap out on me! Does anyone have an idea what parts I should try to get, just in case it quits again? And of course, no broody hens right now, of course.

ok i have had 47 eggs come in so far i have 71 more left to come in not including any extra and i only have 2 turners so will have to stack just hope it does not mess up my turners i had a third incubator and turner set up to borrow but at last min they decided to hatch their own they told me this 2 days ago after i order more eggs looks like 34 egg minus extras will have to be stacked if i devide them between the 2 turners and stack will it hurt my turners also if i can get another bator but no turner if i go 8 to 9 hrs with out turning by hand while at work will it hurt the eggs and keep them rom hatching
