WOW they are big!

Deb, Arielle, why don't you meet in the middle, I will loan you my oven.
Next we'll be Express mailing bread! I have to admit, baking bread is one of my favorite smells (way beats the chicken coop, even when freshly cleaned.

I have a goose egg! I have a goose egg!

Good job Kate, now if you could train her to wipe her feet!

So . . . you got eight (8) instead of one (1) and that was your compromise???? This must be the new and improved chicken math! There must be something wrong with me. I went to the feed store and not only did they have chicks, they also had turkeys and ducklings, and I walked out without any.

But, I don't know where I am going to put any chicks I hatch this time yet, I still have 10 on the back porch from the NYD hatch, I REALLY want to do the turkey hatch after this one (but I haven't committed yet), and would like to try to hatch ducks one of these days (just can't decide what kind). I keep hinting to DH about a turkey pen, and he says "Where are we going to put it?" We have almost 12 acres, I think he could find somewhere!

I suggested we turn his shop into a coop, but NOOOOOO, he won't do that! (But he went out an bought a refrigerator to make me a new incubator.

I just have to move slooooowwwwly.

I have no idea what I am going to do with all of mine either. I have 47 Muscovies in the incubator and oh 40 or so chicken eggs now. LOL My husband and his dad made me a nice little chicken coop last spring. Its about a 4x8 and they have a run that is about 16x20 somewhere around there. They all free range for the most part though so it is mostly unused except for laying in it. i am going to put all silkies in there after my game hen finishes hatching her eggs. She is the only one using the coop right now. I've seen the other girls try to go in there to lay but she gives them the evil eye and they keep away. I have 9 little bantam chicks in my brother in law's camper. LOL He probobly wouldnt be too excited to hear that but he is off working in Canada so what he don't know won't hurt him. I will clean up the evidence.

Oh I had a laugh when I read cuyuseranch (sp) post about keeping chicks in her office until time to leave work. I thought I was the only crazy person who did that!

Looks like the thread as slowed a bit. Didn't take me long to catch up at all.

Wow, Linda... what a GOOSE EGG... they're HUGE!

What incredibly clever people you all are with the look-a-like photos and egg art and dog house repurposing! I love reading this thread, thank heavens I'm retired, it's a full time job keeping up here!

I like this one.  It's funny.  But as I looked at the photo again just now, I noticed that I can't see the top of the egg.  Where'd it go?

The top of the egg is covered by a flashlight. A really, really, really bright tactical flashlight my DH just had to have.
