Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Well, I am officially out of the Easter Hatch-a-long! My eggs are still in though. I will be passing the torch to my super-broody Icelandic, Lukka. She has been on the nest for a couple of days and I am taking Icelandic eggs away as fast as she can collect them. So tonight, under cover of darkness, she will be lifted from her nest in the floor and placed into a broody box to sit on some wooden eggs until tomorrow. In the morning, if she is still on the eggs, she will be the happy recipient of 5 coveted Crested Cream Legbar eggs with less than two weeks incubation to go! The last time she was broody she nearly died while sitting, refusing to leave the nest to eat or drink. This time she will be hand fed scrambled eggs and water. She is the only hen I have ever known that I would trust with the first batch of eggs from my Cream Legbars. So I am out, Lukka's in.

Is she qualified to win contests?

Heck, while holding the cookbook, I hit a button one my computer and it has gone FULL SCREEN. More importantly I need my little shrunk pages below the bottom slide bar back where I can see them. I'm always toggleng between BYC, publisher and my email. Oh and my boys keep their games loaded on firefox for a quick game!

HELP !!

Just take your cursor off the edge, hold down the mouse button and drag it up. If that doesn't work for you, everything should be back to normal if you do a restart.

Your toolbar should default on startup.

Thank you so much!

I don't know why but this is exciting to me.

My DW will do this. I will send a PM soon.

Do you live near Joplin(sounds like you do)?

My DW has to go back there right after Easter to visit her Father--he is dying from Lung Cancer.

My incubator will be empty then and your F3 New Heritage Delawares sound like something I could fill it with

Took the kids to the Wisconsin Dells for the weekend and got way behind. I did some speed reading and am mostly caught up. The son and I candled the eggs before he went to bed tonight. We had 9 clears and 3 blood rings. We threw away a "leaking" egg last week, so we are down to 37 eggs out of the original 50. Now I won't touch them until day 18 before lockdown.

OMG, my layers coop is almost empty.

Actually, it could be empty if I moved the few chickens out of there. That coop holds 50. I have 3 empty pens, too.

I got 2 phone calls from people that want to come tomorrow for chickens, too. This is stressing me... I have one email that I haven't even answered yet, as I don't know if I will even have anything left to sell. Am I gonna regret this big downsize?
Well, at least I should be able to buy a dump-truck load of sand now.

PROJECT DELAWARE... HERE I COME! ! ! FULL FOCUS!

Hmmm, now what am I gonna do with those turkeys due to come? Awww, heck, they can go, too....

Wait.........what did I miss....no more German New Hampshires?!!!

Last year we decided to save money making ourown pizza and not buying so often. We finally worked out a decent pizza dough.

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp sugar
3/4 cups bran
1 tablespoon olive oil

Mix together in a large bowl, add enough warm water to make a soft dough. Knead 5 minutes. let rest 10 minutes.

Sprinkle cornmeal on a pizza pan or jelly roll pan. Place dough on pan and stretch to fit, using a rolling pin to help, and finish fitting to pan by hand. Add sauce, mozarella and other toppings. Bake in hot oven 450 degrees.
