I haven't even got a pip from my hatch. I think the 110 spike pretty much destroyed everything. I saw lots of movement at lockdown and now nothing. I'm drowning my sorrows by setting eggs today and I have turkeys going in.

So I need some help and pictures if you have them would be great.
I have my eggs on a turner and know I will need to take them out on wed. Do you prop up the screen? How? Do you pt them in egg cartons? How do you cut them up? As in leave all 12 or in sets of 4 or what? Do you cut off the bottom? How much of the bottom?

Cayuse if you are going to use egg cartons, I would use the cardboard ones but the styrofoam are OK too. You do cut them down a bit so the cartons don't interfere with any pipping. You also do poke a hole in the bottoms so that air can get to the egg. Give me a few minutes and I will get some pictures. If you don't want to use cartons, you just lay them on their sides on the wire. You could use some of that rubber shelf liner (you know the kind with the holes in it) on top of the wire so that the chicks can get a better grip and it keeps the eggs from rolling around as much as the chicks hatch and bump into them. It also makes it easier to clean up afterwards. It is not necessary though.

Wow...what a day. As I mentioned previously my friend came home because her estranged husband threatend to kill himself and by the time she got here he was in the psych ward. Well..today we went to olive garden and got in the car and my daughter starts bawling. I ask whats wrong and she says that my friends son dumped the dust on her. What dust? At first we're kind of annoyed that my daughter would cry about dust til we look at it. Its brown. So we smell it...smells similar to cinnamon. We ask where he got it and he says from a tiny bottle. We ask where it is and he threw it on the ground. He describes it more and I realize its a capsule. I eventually find it and its one of the large ones that people use for recreational drugs. So I google a drug that smells like cinnamon and sure enough there is a 'legal' drug from thailand that smells and tastes similar to cinnamon called kratom. So we're trying to find out if he ate it and where he found it and if my daughter ate it. Well, it turns out that he found in their car (which his daddy had until recently) and his dad denies having it and says it must be his friends. And we weren't 100% sure what it was but it couldn't be anything else and apparetnly he tasted a bit of it. So...after talking to a doc. They said he should be fine and just watch him. He is fine..but my friend is sooooooo mad at her hubby. And frankly so am I. My kids were at risk too.

And then I come home and dog is peeing blood. I'm soooo freaked out. My first inclination is that its a UTI..but the blood is bright red and looks thicker than urine. I couldn't decide if I should wait and take her tomorrow or take her to the ER and pay butt loads of money. I decided to wait. She is acting fine except needing to go out frequently. I feel bad. She is never in her crate all except on rare occasions. She's been crated for 8 hours the past 3 days because I've been at my friends taking care of her kids while she is at the hospital with her ex. Her kids can't come here because her son is deathly allergic to my house. Not sure why.

I just hope after all this stress I'll have a good hatch but my temps have been insane.

Sounds like a bladder stone or crystal. One of my cats had the crystals and he was so miserable. He had to spend four days at the vet's with a catheter. Hope your dog recovers with no ill effects.

It very well could be a simple urinary tract infection. If your dog is behaving normally and eating and drinking, it will be fine to wait until tomorrow - don't add to your already high stress level, you are not doing anything wrong.

Cayuse here you go. I just made this so you can tell it doesn't take long. I do like using them because it helps keep the hatched chicks from using the unhatched eggs as footballs.

My temps are been running a little high. Not sure what I will get either; In the end, they are not as imiportant as your family or your friend. ANd, you can vent any time you need to.
