Ah! I should've known!!! I knew there was something about you I liked right away!

Hubby and I moved here from San Jose! My family moved from Morgan Hill when I was 11 and I have lived in the San Jose area since then (til we moved up here 6 years ago). I have lived all over the South Bay since then. I lived in Mountain View when hubby and I got married, so back I moved to San Jose. 2 of our kids still live there and one says he is moving back to San Jose as soon as he can get a job there.

Most of the folks that live here in Reno are from the Bay Area as well. Even way up here in the boonies (about 35 mins N of Reno) our neighbors are from Burlingame. We love to joke about the way those D@mn Californians drive up here! lol Some folks don't get that we are laughing at ourselves but Bay Areans have their own sense of humor I suppose.

Congrats on the cute little BRs.

Thanks! That little swedish flower hen seems to be doing well. Now, i have another pip from another swedish, even lower. Aaargh. They are all pipping in the pointy end of the egg. I cut my cartons pretty low so most will be fine but there are definitely a few that may pip below the carton if they continue on this path. I guess I just watch and wait for now. Maybe one of these will hatch and knock the others out for me! :)

Ok, I don't usually say...I told ya so! Good for you! I'm happy for you!

I went into lockdown today. I tossed another BA last night so that puts me at 51. Now, back to getting attacked by bacon.

I am rooting for you! Bacon can be viscious!

My DH is seeing little $$$ fly out the window with every egg I have to throw out.

Congratulations to those who have some early hatchers! Now I'm looking at my eggs and thinking "you slackers".

In the amusing anecdote category: I was sitting with the 6-week old chicks and as usual Tucker my young cattle dog was with me. When I first got chickens a year ago, Tucker killed a few of them, but has learned that's a no-no and is now pretty trustworthy. As he was laying there, the chicks got curious about that fur and several went up to him and started plucking out some fur. Well, Tucker was affronted and hopped up to go stand a few feet away, 1 little Wellie followed and soon I saw her craning her neck to look up at Tucker's back and within a second she had jumped up on his back. His head spun around and the look on his face was priceless, but bless him, he didn't make a move to hurt her and she jumped off and Tucker decided to go nap in a chicken free zone.

What a good dog!
I am getting a bit green with envy for all those with pips and chicks!

Here are my entries for the Flapper Contest.
That has got to be the cutest darn thing I have ever seen!

Edited to correct some of my awful spelling!
