got 24 chicks hatched already and this is day 19.....still have another 16 to go and half of them piping already......

I went out shopping and came back to a BCM hatched! I have one actively zipping too! I have 2 that pipped at the wrong end that I laid on their side with the pip up. Nothing has happened with them in a couple of hours now. No progress. How long do you wait before trying to investigate and maybe help the chick. Have a bad feeling that the 3 with the exterior pips are now dead.

I had the same thing. I had two like that. One got out on it's own. I ended up helping the other out with a wooden skewer through the vent hole. Took me a long time, but I don't think that chick was gonna make it out. I did wait 24 hours, I realize now the chick has curled toes. I have seen people mention this.

What should I do for the curled toes?

Sometimes it can be attributed to higher incubating temp.
