Nobody came out for New Years.

. Today at some point should have some fuzzy butts out. All 3 Pyncheons are pipped this am. 2 Buttercups and one of the itty bitty Seramas is pipped all the others are doing fine, just not ready to join 2010... yet.

2 FBCMs all fluffed out and playing egg hockey in the 1588.

2 BW X BW Ameraucana (both from my own gorgeous BW pullet "Jenna")
1 BW X W from Jean!.... and I wasn't awake so I can't tell who is who! Those blue Ameraucana eggs are SO MUCH THICKER than the Marans eggs! Is it because they are smaller???

In the Brinsea:

1 GCM X Delaware... black chick with whitish hackles... I'm guessing boy AND FIRST CHICK OF 2010 for me...popped the top off at 2:15 AM

1 BWA X Salmon Faverole ... this chick is light with chimpmunk stripes... I so hope it's a girl.... it's beautiful

Pipped:

In the 1588

4 FBCMs... one of which is almost zipped

8 BW X W/BW Ameraucanas. (5 of Jeans and 3 of my own) two don't look very active.

In the Brinsea:

1 BWA X LBLH

1 BWA X WA

1 BWA X PWLH

7 hatched, 5 from the 1588, two from the Brinsea

15 pips, 12 in the 1588 and 3 in the brinsea.

This is turning into a LONG drawn out process!

Have I bored all of you to death yet??!!!

Real busy here all of a sudden.

Humidity has spiked to 89%-82% in the hovabator. Hope that doesn't kill the pipped ones.

I have 12 chicks out, 3 from the Brinsea, 9 from the 1588

And I have 15 pips, 4 in the Brinsea and 11 in the 1588.

I'm tearing up.

Today is the day I suppose.

It's gonna take a while to sort it all out and I was so good at reports....

and I'm predicting that there will be at least 3 or 4 late hatchers tomorrow.

Good Morning and Happy New Year everyone

Mahonri, I am so glad you have more pips, so glad. I still feel bad that you haven't had more. I was sure that you would get a bunch.

Out of the 6 Marans eggs going in - 6 little BC Marans hatched. But everyone of the Marans chicks were stuck. The inner membranes had a few dry spots that they couldn't get around so I helped them out.

I have put five in the brooder and the last one is still resting from me getting it out the rest of the way this morning.

As for the Ameracaunas, every one of those died in the shell. They never pipped. Or they pipped and drowned, because they were not stuck or dried out, just sloshy.

1 Blue Marans is out...hatched between 12AM and 2AM when I decided that I needed some sleep. Nobody else has pipped, but there is tons of movement and quite a bit of chirping.
