I'm stressing- tonight I let my geese that my neighbor has been raising for me come back over to the pond and they decided they want to stay overnight. These are 8 goslings I got in April for a goose that lost her mate that we inherited. Fortunately the gander left his mate that is sitting at the neighbors to come help her with the babies overnight. There are two french toulouse, two pilgrim, two buff, and two Sebastopol. This is just our farm place so we aren't always here so eventually they will have to be self sufficient. We also had two Toulouse babies hatch today.

Has your adult goose accepted the gosling you got for her? how'd it go over night and did you check for snapping turtles before hand? they love to drown and eat water fowl.

Congrats on the 2 new babies

They did great and have spent another night out there now. Fortunately no snapping turtles but I was worried about big bass getting them so I waited until they were pretty big! We put her with the goslings when they were just a couple days old and those are her babies now- they follow her everywhere. She is a fierce momma- thank goodness she took to them. I'm not sure what we would have done if she hadn't.
