Mail order chicks question

Yeah I tried to get my money after the first shipment but they wanted to prove they are shipping all over right now
They will give me a refund I'm sure of it
If they are a good company I'll stop there and pick some up in a couple weeks on my way to Tennessee

I would try Mypetchicken. I had no problems getting my chicks in November. Shipped out of Ohio and I got them here in Washington in 48 hours. I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how sad it is to have high hopes and excitement. Just to be let down twice.

There was more than one heat pack? How big are those packs? I really want to see one. I have shipped aquatics so I have a good idea of how big a 40-hour pack is (and they should be using at least that, preferably a 72!)

OK, I found a 40 to measure. 4"x5.25" and it's fairly thin, under 1/2". If I recall correctly, the 60 has a similar footprint but is notably thicker and the 72 is much bigger -- both larger and thicker.
They start off soft like a beanbag and harden as they are used up.

The 72s are more like 5 or 6 inches x 7. A 40 weighs 3 ounces, a 72 weighs 8 ounces. They really are quite different.

The first shipment had red lines on heat packs second didn't
I read it's a color indicator but I've never used a heat pack so I don't know what the line indicates

Uniheat has red lines to indicate where the venting holes are. You have to avoid taping over those or the pack will fail from oxygen starvation.
