Maine Chicken stocks, Swaps and shows August- Dec 2012 -- update is on post #125, p, 13

I had four Ams go broody when i left their eggs to gather. I would like to have a ... 'instant' incubator if I can and from what I heard Silkies and Muscovies are it. I would be fine having another breed. I am keeping my Brahma based on the possibility that their breed goes broody often. Her butt still isn't big enough to heat more than three goose eggs but its a start.

then you might need a few more brahmas, pm if you want more and I will point you in a direction to get some.
chicken enabler, that's me!!

Just thought I'd chime in here. I read the Maine threads and frequently see that sometimes folks are looking for the breeds of birds I have.

Unfortunately, they don't know I'm here just outside of Farmington.

I don't go to swaps that often anymore. But I do have bantam cochins, LF cochins and d'Uccles available on occasion.

Just sayin....

i'm sorry,.... ok, not really.

Oh don't say rain. I have had enough and I really want to go! The baby is feeling better (no fevers anyway) and since I missed the others due to car trouble TWICE I really don't want to go in the rain...
It also sounds like it will be just me, my biological offspring and ... maybe a cat carrier I sneak in without DH noticing! Not that I need anymore birds. I don't. Unless there are Saxonies or the LF Silkie or the kacki Polish pullet/hen... just saying.

no saying it will rain- think sunny skys, ok, being realistic, doesn't have to be sunny, but can be have the rain hold off until the show is over????

What time does the show start and what time does it go to? I live in Houlton and it will take 3 hrs to get there I was going to wait until my husband got home at 8:30am to leave. That means I wouldn't get there 1130-12 should i leave sooner?
