haa haa haa that is true!!!! Only problem with silkies is they are prone to brain injury cause their skulls are open. I would go with a diff broody breed if it is in with a mixed flock.....

There are lots of LF breeds that go broody! I have BO, GLW, and even Golden Comets (sexlinks, and as a matter of faact, she is my best hen) that have gone broody! It really helps to leave golf balls, wooden eggs, or something similar in the nest boxes, it helps them go broody if they think that the eggs they lay are being left there. I have started switching out and adding to their brood with hatchery chicks too! It works great! I have one hen with 27 chicks right now!
