Maine Poultry show windsor fairgrounds may 29th public welcome

I'm in Windham. I don't know the gender and I think they are 3 or 4 weeks old right now(6 or 7? will have to count). I don't see them going anywhere right now. I haven't told anyone I wasn't going to keep them. I already have enough black/blue/splash I just wanted to see how this mix would work(not mix color but got eggs from someone that has same lines, just crossed the lines). It helps me to plan my breeding pens. I know it may not be the same per se but I will try a different mix first and if it's successful then I won't bother

. there is nothing wrong with them, I just like my chicks "fuller" at hatch. I knew when they hatched I wasn't keeping them but just tossed them in the brooder with my other chicks anyway. Probably silly as I end up just giving them away anyway for nothing(or close to nothing). Just check in with me after the show, I will see how old they are, have it written somewhere...just let me know if you are interested

I'd showing up about 8:30, early bird gets best selection. people generally start selling as soon as they coop in their show birds which is any time now.

Went to the show..loved seeing all the chickens!! Although I will say it freaked out my husband when he saw the HUGE Buff orpington rooster...first thing out of his mouth was"Is that how big our buff orpington rooster Russell is going to get..he is bigger than our black lab" lol! I also went home with 2 little silkie babies!! Not sure if they are girls or boys but I don't mind..they are the cutest little fluff balls!! Great show!! Can't wait until the next one!!

I'm back from the show - long day........but congrats to the CMBF Club for a well run show.

My cochins did OK in the show and I sold some cochins chicks to caring folks!

Found homes for "Nancy Egg" Buff Orpington chicks too.

Many thanks to Erik Nelsen who had jumper cables to start my dead battery car!!! So kind!

And my red bantam cochin roo made my day

I think over all, all the byc'ers did very well.
and it's nice to be able to put names with faces. I meet a few byc'ers there today that I chat with here and didn't know that I already did know them.
