My bees were flying today. Cleansing flights, and crowding on the sunny side of the hive outside. They were absorbing the heat. I am so happy that they made it through this cold, cold winter.

Sorry, not chickens.

Jeepers im behind! ! Hi to the newbies!!!! Newbie here too!!! Got mine in Aug and Sept a few months old...finally started laying several weeks ago.

I've noticed my roo is crowing much more :( Im hoping those that hear him will think he is the neighbor's roo and none will be the wiser.

I will be happy to see grass

I took Finn to Tractor Supply today. He was a little scared in the car, but as soon as we got in, he was cleaning himself and purring a lot. He didn't like the chicks, his face got all red and he made his mad-purring sounds. He got a lot of compliments!

Alas my bees did not make it through the winter.

Even with three, almost four, supers full of honey the weather just did them in. Guess I will just have to wait until next year and try again.

Why wait until next year to try again? Order a couple of packages and split those supers into 2 hives. I think only one of our 4 hives survived the winter:( Had plenty of honey as well...it was a very cold winter. A friend of mine lost half her hives also. I can only assume the price of honey will rise.
