They are coming from Meyers Hatchery. The ducklings and chicks I have now are from a few local feed stores.Enjoy your chickies. Where are they coming from?
I use FF, and have had wonderful results with it. When comparing my flock to the flocks of my friends who got chicks from the same place, at the same time as me, and a lot of them got chicks that I hatched... my girls consistently lay sooner and more often than those of my friends. On average, I'd say... about 2 weeks sooner, maybe even more. Definite cost savings, as they are not able to bill any out onto the ground. They "lick the bowl clean" before they get more. A bag of feed lasts much longer. I also compare feed consumption with my friends, and it scares me how much feed they go through. This is also a great way to deter rodents. If they don't have access to food, they'll go shopping elsewhere.I was just wondering if anyone on here was feeding fermented feed? Wanted to know how it was working out for you. I started doing it a couple weeks ago and so far the chickens are liking it. Do you notice any difference in your chickens? Are you saving on feed?
I'll tell you, bucka... I was a little scared myself counting 11 rats in the picture!! Told my DH we're gunna need a bigger trap! ONE! 1 stinkin little rat in a mouse trap! ONE!Coopchick, you are scaring me! I stopped thinking about rats. I haven't even purchased the hardware cloth that I promised to line the floor with. I bought one of those traps in the winter, but never caught anything (although new tunnels were appearing). Perhaps I will set up the game cam this weekend...
