Maine

That is beautiful! I mailed it Thursday so it should of come today or maybe monday. Trying to think if I know someone in that area (Lincoln).

It's on the NH border near Rangely. I should be going out to get the mail today if it's below 90!

And as far as the chickens go, I have an attic window with a chicken that I also need to finish, and I have 2 quilts coming up with chickens on them. I'm really looking forward to the chicken tumbler one:

I'm truly impressed. I came home after dark tonight to find one of my girls running frantically back and forth on the wrong side of the electronet fencing. It took me a while to catch her and get her back inside. One of my roos went home with a friend to have a flock of his own tonight. He doesn't know just how lucky he is!!! Mama broody's babies are 8 days old today. They are growing bigger every day.

Hi Chickenneighbor.

Hi, LG. i've been lurking a little more lately, because my neighbors have moved and rehomed the hens.:hit There is a farm a little ways down the road with chickens, but it's not quite the same as being greeted at the door by those sweet, begging faces! So, I've been using this and other threads to get my fix! If at all possible, everyone, more pictures! Getting my own flock isn't an option right now, so here I several times a day!

Hi Chickeneighbor! I just read you'd like more pictures. This is my "camera shy," Pearl.

How are you all doing in this scorching heat? I had to choose between keeping the flock in the electronet today to help protect them from hawk attack, or let them out so they could be a bit cooler. I chose to let them out. We were gone all day, and I think there were no losses. Mama broody is being brought out with her babies to spend every day in the tractor. They don't seem to be bothered by the heat as much as the rest of the flock. Babies are growing huge. Their crops are massive by the end of the day. They are gobbling lots of Japanese beetles, as well as their FF, and any other goodies they get. Today, they were dragging left over corn cobs around in the tractor. These guys are only 17 days old. Fun to see Mama running around with a baby on her back. They are fairly well trained to the cat crate now, so it's easy to transport them from coop to tractor every morning and evening.

Thanks, Dowgirl! Pearl is beautiful! For being camera shy, she's very photogenic. Maybe if you tell her the BYC calender picture contest is on, she'll pose for you! :D Cover chick!
