Maine

Man, I'd take one if we had enough hens to go around. But one of our cockerels is acting like he wants to be a keeper and my fiance is ridiculously attached to him.

Well, I'd think fast... There will be no more reprieve come Saturday. It looks like that's camp day...

But if you reserved one, that's different

I am thinking trying to narrow down between the Red/Green EE, Black & White EE or a white silky roo. At the moment I only have 8 hens but if I want to do some breeding project/ experiments hmmm....

Oooh, I'm doing my own experiments. Ordered some cornish bantams to keep one little roo from to mix with proper sized meat chickens and egg layers (with eggs in all different colors from easter egger green to speckled Welsummers). The goal would be plenty of breast meat that won't break the poor chicken if they decide to hop off a roost, heheh. Although I'm a little bit sad my one Silver Laced Wyandotte to hatch out looks like he's going to be a roo too :/

I have narrowed it down to the black white EE boy or a white silky... is one more aggressive than the other?? Feel free to PM me so I am not hijacking this thread

No such thing as hijacking this thread. If you're from Maine, or thinking of coming to Maine! all conversations welcome (unless of course they're not appropriate for public format! IMO, out of state visitors are more than welcome here also!!!)

If anyone is interested, I've got some ten week old pullets for sale. They came from Meyer Hatchery, NPIP certified, they are still in my basement. They are all feathered out and can be put outside now. I've got one Welsummer left, two EE's two white leghorns. (I've also got a few cockerells the same age for FREE if anyone wants them; Speckled sussex, Welsummer, EE's)

All five pullets would go for $30 (for all five). Plus, if you would like a male included, your pick of breeds included for free.
