Maine

i have i got them through the conservation (belknap land conservation commission- local county thing), but they werent 'trees' they were starters and have done amazingly well
and i know they were grown in this area and therefore would do very well
I just got a shipment from gurneys all nut trees of different varieties they seem alive just planted in pots till area they going in is ready most my fruit trees came from
Lowes tractor supply and home depot they decent trees most deaths were from snowmobile drivers not paying attention as were small

If any one is interested or have any ideas on what we can do with them, we currently have 4 drake Welsh harlequins who need a home and are around 2 weeks old. They are free. We are located in North Yarmouth. We hatched some eggs and got more drakes than we can handle.

I purchased a Contender Peach tree at my local Hannaford store last night. Here's the stats on it:

This exceptionally hardy variety, perfect for northern gardens, consistently yields large crops of sweet, juicy, medium-to-large fruit. Also features lovely pink flowers that bloom and attract bees in spring. Developed in Raleigh, North Carolina, introduced in 1988. Disease-resistant to bacterial spot. Cold-hardy. Freestone. I'm super excited to have found this variety. The pot size/top growth ratio is the best I've seen in a potted tree, and it's well shaped with nice scaffold branches.

Free Roosters. 6 weeks old. One beautiful heritage barred rock - duckworth line. Many Wheaten Marans Bev Davis Line. Some heritage RIRs as well. Midcoast - Camden. HELP!! :)

We have one peach tree that survived the winter. I fairly sure it is Contender, but I'd have to see if the tag is still on it. We're really pushing the limits here though, in a zone 3 cold spot. With the changing climate, recent winters have been more like zone 4, so we're hopeful.

Well hearing about all these missing chicks and chicks getting killed has had me paranoid. Yesterday morning right after I got up around 430AM I heard what sounded like a Puppy..SO I went out to commit puppycide since it was at the coop. Turns out that my EE Rooster Heinlein has started trying to crow. Really sounds like someone trying to jumpstart a puppy. I really love these Easter Egger chickens. They are bit flighty but much neater compared to the Black Australorps I have.
Also I am pretty sure 2 and most likely 3 of the Australorps are roosters. One of which has a bit of an attitude and pecked me last night as I was reaching into the brooder to feed them. Needless to say I grabbed him and held him down inside the coop and then picked him up and petted him where all the lady Australorps could see. Heard that's a way to break an A--hole rooster from it.

lol, it is true some hens will crow
you could post pictures and try to get some input from others

and you could try 'pecking' the offending bird on the head with your finger, that is how other chickens display dominance
