Haha. I my boss married a Chinese woman. Apparently the "black boned chicken" heals all kinds of ailments.
She even eats the brains. They are a delicately. She claims that she can tell the sex of the deceased by looking at the brain

They are quite the delicacy for the Chinese, are they going to take them?

I hope so! I just want a broody chicken! Then again she would be hatchery stock. Who knows

My best broodies are:
The darn turkey, the cornish game hens and the banty/dwarfs I've had.

I also have a showgirl (turken x silkie) and she has never ever laid an egg. Has zero desire for anything domestic (may be a bit like her human momma).

It's a crapshoot.

You think a turkin and silkie crosd would go broody! Then again i had a 1yo white longhorn go broody this year

My Am hen is now broody. I will lock her in the tractor tomorrow.

I have one hen who is broody, as well as an other one who is working towards that direction. Plan is to place both hens in a tractor every day, and block off nest boxes every night until these moody girls reform their attitude. Any one have success busting broodies with this method?

i have never tried. i hear that ice packs in the nesting box work ok but an empty cage works better
