Maine

Unfortunately, I don't know anything on this, though I've seen plenty of people own them, plus have seen them at plenty of shows. I would think you don't need a permit, but certain breeds may require it if they're a native breed, like the Rock Dove. I suggest calling around like to a Game Warden (or even Mr. Drew) to see if there's anything out there even though I don't think there is. (I think there is something on owning wild turkeys and Canadian geese, but I've never looked into it on them either.)

Rock Dove is just a different name for Rock Pigeons AKA Feral Domestic Pigeons.

Know any good sources for Pigeons? I'm looking to start with Giant Runts.

No, unfortunately. There was someone who owned pigeons just outside of my neighborhood, but basing off of how many white ones I've seen flying around, I'm thinking they all flew away.
We're looking to check out a near by Abandoned Ranch House. We'll most likely be living off grid like our Aunt.
That'll be nice. Guaranteed it needs a lot of work and possibly has a lot of mold. (I've been slightly involved in a lot of real estate for a lot of years, so I'm familiar with things like that typically are.) If mold and lots of work doesn't scare you, it'll probably be a nice place. It must have a lot of land, right? (Be sure to check taxes of it current, past, and of similar neighbors in the same town. Sometimes that's what gets you.)

After we check it out, we're gonna get a hold of a real estate agent so she/he can get information, & such on it.

Pretty certain it has alot of acreage. I do want to add goats. If there's too much acreage we'll either sell some off, or lease some out for hunting.

Leasing might be the way you want to go. If you can get a small cabin or even a tiny house (one of those ready built sheds turned into a small camp is a thing around here), then AirBnB is where the money's at. Unfortunately around here, you never know what you'll be getting for neighbors (growing pot is legal but they'll still shoot you over it), so it's often not a good idea to be selling out in case you get someone you're not happy with. Honestly, a lot of people are making a living off of AirBnB because of tourists and you rarely have to worry about anything.

So far from what I heard, the neighbors are friendly in this tiny area.

Hello, for the right home we are considering re-homing our wonderful rooster-- his brother is the flock leader and this guy deserves his own flock.

Buff Orpington, 9 months old

He is wonderfully friendly and loving (not aggressive at all!) He loves to hop up on your lap and snuggle. He knows his name and other words like "gentle". He generally asks for permission with the ladies, and is very good at keeping watch and finding food. He is easy to pick up (he doesn't give chase) and just wants to be a good rooster (or "good wooster" as he loves to be complimented)! He was hatched here and lovingly raised with respect.

We are willing to drive several hours within New England for the right home.
