Good luck with the job interview! At least you are already acclimated to the Maine climate (probably even warmer here, I would think)
. Sorry I can't address the rental question. Does the company offer any assistance?
As for Double-O's feed question, we buy our feed in New Sharon (it seems most of their feed comes from Canada), and also supplement with Purina flock raiser to up the protein.

hi paradisepoultry . i hear you on the moving the chickens . i live on the midcoast of maine about 15 minutes south of rockland . i just recently got out of relationship after 10 years. i moved all my chickens with me. i have poor credit also so i know what you mean about renting. im staying with family and looking into getting a used trailer and putting it on my family land that they will give me. basically i just need a well septic and find a used mobile home. then when i get in a relationship down the road and it goes bad i wont have to move again. good luck with your interview and enjoy Maine.
Yes, the company offers relocation assistance and a sign on bonus. Not sure what the exact amount is though. I will be trying to contact realtors and stalking CL from now on.
Try this link, I took it from the Portland Press Harold's site. I haven't looked myself, but maybe you'll find something, or the very least you'll get some contact info for realtors that may know of rentals. Good Luck.
I have 2 chicks, 2 weeks old, that need to go. They might both be roos but I am not sure. I got them as part of a rare breed special and have too many breeds so I don't even want to grow them out to see. They are both feather legged, a splash marans and a blue copper marans. I did have 2 blue copper but lost one 2 days after they got here(shipped). They are from Greenfire so they are definitely quality... free to anyone that will come get them..
UGH! Just had a 14" diameter Pine Tree come crashing down on top of my roofed run... Caught the side of it. Actually snapped some of the pre-treated 2x4s. Could have been worse though - the coop survived and the chickens are safe. Brother in law is coming over later with his chain saw to help get the beast off the run. Man was it windy!

Ok... Some of you out there in Maine have to be looking for some QUALITY - FREE Barnevelder or Lavendar Ameraucana Roosters... Thought I'd post here before going to Craigslist.
Just born this weekend. As soon as I know the sexes for sure they can be yours. I have 8 Barnie chicks and only want to keep 2 pullets. I have 5 Lav Ams and only want to keep 2 pullets... Anyone interested in the remainders?
