chest bumping is a typical male chick thing. I have had a few girls that were bullies but they were older then the ones they were picking on.

I know what you mean, hoppy. It might have a little to do with the fact that this chick got more of a generic name, "Fuzzy Feet" and the rest of them got girl names. But also with the way this chick picks on all the others. I never noticed this last year and all the chicks ended up being female. I also thought I might not have noticed because they were down in our basement the whole time, while this year the chicks are in our main bathroom. So, I see alot of them. I like it, though, because they get alot of attention and handling (by even my husband who PRETENDS he doesn't like them).

I really think that I should start a "Chickens annonymous" group. My hubby is going to come home and find a whole new flock!

I am such a sucker when it comes to odd colored chickens, and the little voice that's supposed to tell you that it's probably not a good idea to get more, yeah, I don't have one of those. Maybe hubby won't notice 2 new Ameraucanas, an olive egger, another BLRW, 2 Buff Marans, and a tiny baby Partridge Silkie (that is in with this weekends hatchlings). Or the black orpington, blue wyandotte, white wyandotte, and pair of muscovies, either....

I'm sure he won't. Mine walked right by the make shift outdoor pen I made on the front lawn. He had to walk around it to get to the front door. When I asked him if he'd noticed it, He said, What pen?

I am selling pure Ameraucana pullets that will be 1 year old in July. I will also have a breeding quad available. The pullets are laying and the roos are fertile. Been hatching all spring. I will be taking some of these to the swaps. If anyone is interested send pm.

Actually, we are building a new coop this summer. Right now we have the coop, a smaller pen that my hubby named "the love shack" for breeding that fits about 5 or 6, 2 big brooders, and I just bought a small coop for the chicks to grow out in. (that hubby doesn't know about)

I figured that since I had such a dismal hatch from the shipped eggs, I needed to make myself feel better. (With 10 chickens and 2 ducks. And an extra coop.)
