Good Afternoon!

I got my first egg to today from the pullets I got from Lazy. I think one of the black ones laid it, since she was in the flower pot nest box when I went to to check. It's a cute little lite brown egg. I hope the other girls lay different colors. So, exciting to finally get an egg! I can't wait to see what the others lay. Sick of buying eggs.
 
I am very surprised it's brown... but... these girls are full of surprises! I'm getting some olive, dark brown, light brown, blue, and aqua! I do hope you get some other colors as well. I forgot how many you got from me? Were they all black, or were there some partridge colored ones?
 
Good morning! I got five chickens from you. Three black and two partridge. One of the partridges has white ears and the other has red. They are all super healthy and fiesty! On two occasions one of the black ones has flown out of my run! Which has about 8 foot high fencing around it!
 
Yep. I put up a 6' fence around 3 sides of my coop, and some of the little snots continue to fly over. I need to get the bird netting over it. One gal was none too pleased when I caught her outside the fence, and trotted her inside for a wing clipping. I think I'll keep a pair of scissors handy and clip all the girls that end up on the wrong side of the fence!

I think most of my black girls are laying aqua eggs. I think one of the partridge is laying blue, and an other is laying cream colored. So, you still have a chance to get some blue/aqua eggs out of them.




I still have some mature pullets and some seasoned hens if anyone wants to add to their flock before winter!
 
My leg horns insists on roosting in the tree way up high where I can't get her. She starts foraging at Crack of dawn but that's also predators are out and about. She already got attacked by a skunk a couple weeks ago. Went in the coop a couple nights but is right back to the tree. I know it's because she was head chicken with my first batch and now the only survive membet. The other ones- the pullets- are establishing someone else as head chicken. So she keeps herself separate. I'm sure she misses her sister leg horn cause they ruled the roost!
 
Years ago, I had 3 surviving Leghorns after a coon attack. They were skittish before the attack. Afterwards, they were just plain loco. You couldn't approach them without them freaking out. The only suggestion I have is to perhaps catch her during the day. You'd need to do some creative fencing and lure her in with some treats. Then, after you catch her, you could clip a wing. Could you put her in a crate in the coop for a few days to get her re-acclimated to the coop??
 
Will have two icelandic cockerals for sale pretty soon they were hatched via broody hen on 8/27 are sandhill/lisa richards mixture parents where bought as hatching eggs from these places $15 a piece if anyone interested will post pics when fig out how to
