Got my latest sewing project done (blue jay wall hanging): Bucka, next year I could make you a rat wall hanging for Xmas... just sayin'
:D Wait, .....so is the bluejay constructed out of little pieces of fabric? It looks awesome. When I saw the cardinals, I thought maybe they were painted on or something. It must be hard to find the right fabric (not to mention laying it out). Perhaps a rat sculpture would strike your fancy...

I wonder if Guineas like rats???

I sure hope they do.

I like them, they're loud. Surprisingly despite the loudness, I enjoy them more than the loud goats.

I like that sculpture, bucka. You do that yourself?

Yes, the blue bird is made of small pieces of fabric. The red birds were just cut out with the face/beak put on... also with fabric. All of it is fabric stitched on, even the little stems and berries.

Hmm.....if guineas can be trained to be night time rat hunters, I'm on board!

I made the metal rat a long time ago. It only has whiskers on one side, because those thin metal pieces combust immediately, and it is almost impossible to get them on. Now I make a "Spanish rat". So called because the thicker whiskers remind me of a mustache, and the new rat seems to speak with a Spanish accent. ;)

The girls HATED the snow we got yesterday. It was hilarious to watch. Needless to say they went back into their coop and wouldn't come out into the run all day. Debating on opening their door today to let them out. It is freezing out. 16 degrees feels so cold compared to what it has been.

If they didn't like that they're really not going to like tomorrow.

Mine didn't seem to care much about yesterday. Most of my birds are old pros at the snow. It also helped that I came out a couple times and offered corn and sunflower seeds. That gets everyone out. Also if you want them coming out, throw some hay or shavings down. It works on my birds.

I didn't let them out today. Figured they wouldn't like it and it's been snowing real hard here all day. Last I checked we were at 10 inches but that was hours ago. I got to try and get some hay so I can put some down. I tried to coax them out with their morning treats but wanted no part of them.

I didn't let them out today, either. It was snowing earlier than I thought and was predicted for more. Besides, I didn't want to have to rush home to get here before dark and I was worried that I'd be fishing guineas out from under the coop.
