So is Mama all done taking care of them?  How many??
Yes, they are in a plastic tote, now, with a light. It was so neat watching the interaction between them but it seemed like she was ready to go back outside. There are two of them.

I love how Silkie chicks just get fluffier as they grow!!:)

Anyone have an advice how to catch and get rid of flying squirrels? They are not in my coop but the storage on each end of my house? As far as I have seen there are 2 adults and a baby. My DH also saw a mouse in the coop real early this morning when he went to turn the light on in the coop before he left for work. Going to set traps up in the eves to catch that. Darn rodents!

No idea on the flying squirrels. I had them living in a bird house for years. Every time I went to take the house down, it was full of babies. Those things are so freaking cute, I couldn't destroy them. I have no qualms about killing squirrels and chipmunks, though! But, if they are in your building, they gotta go.

If I were you, I'd try both, and if no other animals have access to those buildings, I'd put out the mouse/rat bait sticks in a bait station. Pull out the big guns, and attack the situation on all fronts. You could even do a water bucket rat trap, but you'll need to put salt in the water to keep it from freezing.

Hey all. I do not even remember the last time I was on here. Must be a few months. No idea why since this is such a great group.

With the new year upon us my thoughts have naturally thought about spring chicks. And as usual I have a dilemma. Do I order from the local feed store and get breeds that I like but not my preferred, go to TSC and get what they happen to have in stock or order on my own to get the breeds I really want and try and find someone to pick them up at the post office for me. I would prefer the latter but am not hopeful I will find someone. Oh well I am sure I will figure out something.

I was going to check with them to see if they would add mine to their order. I am in there every week buying hay so they know me by name.

Hi Widget!

I had luck getting a couple "special order" birds from Longhorn last year, which might expand your options some. I tried a couple AustraWhites, and I like them quite a bit.
