I just got back from the stevie nicks concert in boston, it was really great to have a break from all home things even if it was just over nite.

Hi all!

I am introducing myself over here. My family is picking up and moving to Maine. Yay!!!!

I am debating about what to do with the girls (only 3 of them 2 RIR and 1 Buff Orp) and the coop. Tow it up there? Leave it down here?

Thoughts?

Well, since everyone around here seems to need more coops and want to charge an arm and leg for them you might want to tow it :) Jersey to here is along way though. Hoppy had some pens recently. Maybe sell your old coop and buy another?

Oh! And does anyone else have Langshans??

!!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather we have been having lately. Its really a bit hotter than I like, but since I havent been able to convince my family that we should move to extreme northern Canada I guess I have to deal with it for the few days out of the year we have it!

welcome to maine, leave the coop there, unless it's super fancy and you can't live without it, it probably will be just as easy to build or buy when you get here. with the girls, that's a harder decision, a move that distance, they are easy enough to pack up and move or they might even help you sell your coop if they came with it. we have some nice quality birds here too and if you attend a swap, you get to meet us all.

Welcome to BYC and soon to be welcome to Maine!

How big is your coop? If you only have 3 girls in it, does it need to be "towed" up here? (The thought of a coop with extra room for chickens just doesn't compute with me... what's room?) Would it fit in a UHaul?

A small coop for 3 girls should be easy enough to build when you get here, if you're attached enough to your girls to want to bring them here.
