maintenance?

I have been very lucky with my flock of 2 years, probably because it is cold and don't have to worry about a lot of the parasites that are down south. I figured I should be doing something for them......I had read of something for them to dust themselves in? I am looking for something they can do themselves as my dh is deployed and I am nursing a newborn so I stay away from chemicals etc... I don't notice anything, no worms in stool, no critters on them but wanted to do a preventitive measure... Is DE used for this? Any help/suggestions are appreciated

DE is sprinkled lightly into the dirt, sand, ash or what ever you choose.. not alot. it isn't good to breathe it. we use it in our deep litter and just a very light dusting is all you need. it lasts a really long time and works great

You wont see worms in their poop neither, unless there's an infestation.
