Major Vent Problem

Hi. I'm new here and my chicken is having a major problem.

It's like she has a hard purple ball attached to her vent. It also seems like there is some poop or something attached to the ball.



This is our family's first time having chickens and we are clueless on what to do.

Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

It looks like a prolapse of the vent. You might try cleaning her vent area up, and applying some honey or Preparation H to it. You can try to push it back in. The longer it is out, the harder it will be to go back. It's also possible that it is a tumor, but prolapses are fairly common.
