Majoring in poultry science??

I don't know if your degree would make you able to vet birds,but I could sure use a bird vet that isn't charging a huge cost to *guess* on my hens.
We have a county educational farm where the school kids go.They are hatching eggs all the time,and teaching about the farm animals.Would be a cool job.

Have you ever considered aquaculture? My career interest started with poultry genetics but shifted when fish researchers invaded the poultry science lab space. More species, greater industry growth potential, and need for veterinary skills involving fish will be increasing.

Most land grant schools deal with aquaculture and / or fisheries. Both undegraduate degrees could enable pursuing a career in aquaculture. Could also be a foundation for advanced training suitable for a vet, assuming you take enough chemistry. Major shortage of vets trained to deal with fishes and aquatic animals in general exists.

what about becoming a usda . with a degree u can make some money and work where u want to without a degree i could start out making 16.86 a hour a year later 18 something an hour that what one of the usda ladies told me
