Is or has anyone out there majored in poultry science? I am courious about the jobs avalible to you, Salary, and benifits.
Thanks. I need some help coming up woth career choices and where better than poultry science!

I know two people with degrees in poultry science.

The first works for an organic farmers cooperative where he is the focal point for the cooperative's egg production program and is generally the liaison between the producers, marketing, and the co-op's board of directors.

The other has worked for several major food producers, focusing on production methods and increased profitability for broiler, turkey, or egg production, depending upon the company involved. This person has also branched out into independent consulting for companies implementing salmonella control plans under the FDAs new guidelines.

How much do they make? I don't know... I just thought this would give you an insight into some of the types of jobs available.

Poultry science has a LOT of great scholarships. When I was getting my BS, there was a poultry science class which the industry would PAY you to take. Jobs are plentiful and (I think) pay relatively well. I say go for it!!
