Might as well electrify it too. If you are going to bring in electricity, might as well lay in a length of telephone wire too. The chooks might like some bach or strauss piped in when you add the stereo later.

And you will already have the power there when you add that ceiling fan.

in my experience (a whopping 4 weeks old now), take the amount of space you think you need (for a coop and run) and double it. If you think you've already doubled from what you originally thought about...double again.

Just thought of something else in re to the roost. If you have extra space in front of or behind the roost area, when cooped, food & water could be stored below without poop getting on/in the waterer or feeder.
