Make It Stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Threads don't need to be "saved". The only reason an old thread should be dug up is if you have a question for the original poster.

In our (BYC Staff) opinion, only very popular / helpful threads should be dug up out of the past, and only if there is helpful information or very relevant questions to be added to the thread. Old random ramblings / off topic threads... especially ones that are over 6 months old, should probably stay in the archives.

Apparently there is something afoot where some people think there should be no posts on BYC other than sales posts that have 0 replies, so some people are digging them up to reply to them. IMO I think it will take forever and flood out all of the new threads with old stuff personally.
It's one thing to have a thread be brought back to life that you genuinely wanted to reply to, it's another just to say any silly thing to give it some kind of reply.

BTW, if it becomes a big enough issue (meaning members don't follow the suggestion I made above) we'll run a DB script to simply lock all threads older than 6 months that have fewer that 3 replies.

We appreciate members wanting to answer questions and have no unanswered threads, but that's not possible or a good idea and will clutter up the forum like crazy.

We suggest that your posts and attention be applied to helping welcome new members of the forum and answering recent questions.

*Grins sheepishly* I resurrect old threads a lot... Guilty as charged...
That is why I made the topics that I can see go up to 75 topics per page... And my posts too...
