Make your own - No waste - 5 gallon (25# feed) bucket feeder for about $3

That extra little flange might need to be ground off...won't slip tight thru hole I don't think.

The top one?

I thought that was supposed to be on the inside pressing against the bucket to make a tighter fit (when the cuff is sawed off and screwed back on the outside) instead of going through. But maybe you mean another one

I believe that label says it is a 4", the ones I've used (and I believe most use) are 3". That will certainly make the distance longer and give you less space inside for multiple. Although I've seen two of mine share the hole so they definitely could share a 4" hole

I made 3 of these following pretty much the same bucket and fitting design. I went with food grade clear buckets so I could see the food levels. Also added gamma lids too. I don't get any wasted food and each bucket feeds 8-9 chickens for over a week.

Yeah, I had heard most people mentioned 3 inch and that's what I was going to go with, but I wanted the flange thing and for some reason Lowe's only has this one in 4 inch I think. Do you think they're going to have a problem reaching the food with this one???? That's good if they could share though!

Yes, I meant the top one(good communication).....didn't think of putting in from the inside, major brain fart, sorry
Thanks! And it's okay! It's actually pretty understandable since most people making them use the regular ones without this but I went with it specifically for the tighter fit :) not sure they'll be able to reach the feed though

No idea, haven't looked at the 4" ones, but I'm assuming everything in just bigger so it'll definitely be a stretch for them. I'd say make it and see. If they can't reach it, maybe you can get turkeys this spring :)

That's a very good point! I hope they can reach it! If not then I guess I'll go to the 3 inch one but you're right that maybe I could get turkeys :p

As I keep saying 4" PVC sewer is not the same as 4" SCH 40 PVC... 4" sewer is sized between 3" and 4" SCH 40 PVC...

My feeder is made from 4" sewer and trimmed as found in the previous post I mentioned on page 1 of this thread, it has worked fine for younger birds, bantams, standards, guinea fowl and peafowl that all share the same coop... The only birds I ever had issues with were a few select dumb young guinea fowl that managed to actually climb into the elbow and get stuck, but that was only a few select and obviously not as smart as the other birds...
