making a feather plucker..

good morning,
what are you using for your feather plate ?
The bottom half of a plastic 55 gal drum works great for the tub.
I highly recommend going with the up dated version of tub with the feather chute.
less messy and it keeps your drive mechanism from getting wet.
I also recommend using two bearing blocks for the feather plate shaft.
this will stabilize the shaft and makes less stress on the motor.
also, make adjustable bolts to mount the motor to. then you can tighten the drive belt by moving the motor on the mounting bolts and eliminate the idler tensioner pulley.
