Making a hoop tractor safer from predators?

After much consideration, I'm going to reinforce the tractor a bit. I'm going to get two 8x10' tarps so that tarps come all the way to the bottom on the sides, over the poultry netting. I'm also going to cover the door and most of the rear in hardware cloth and also run hardware cloth up 2 ft on the front over the chicken wire. I'm still considering a hardware cloth 'skirt' to try and protect the birds from digging predators, but since it will be moved daily I'm not sure that anything will dig enough in one night to get in.

I doubt that the electric wire will work well enough.

Looks like an armored truck! You shouldn't have any problems. Can it be tied/staked to the ground in case of high winds? The tunnel design is great until a wind blows the wrong direction.

I'm in the process of building a tractor myself. Looks nothing like yours and probably needs quite a few more refinements as well.
I'll have to do what you have and post photos for critiques. They are all useful and helpful.

If you have rocky ground I suppose you may be ok with that assumption about digging but all I have experience with is sand. Around here I have had predators dig under a heavy pen in an hour and take three birds, never a drawn out project that digging in thing. Otherwise I'd have been warned and caught the predator the next time! My Dad says that animals (mainly dogs) will dig right at the bottom of the fence where it meets the ground and if you have wire that comes out from it, like a border around the bottom a few feet attached to that bottom edge, they will not have sense to back up and dig. If they do they don't think to go down and then up.

Don't know if that would work with your design but I often use the concept in both keeping dogs in and out of fences.

Electric fences do actually work, I guess a solar one would be all that you could use conveniently in anything mobile like that...
