Making a nest?

Is this beginning of a nest? I noticed them going in and out of it this morning with alot of lighter sounding quacks. So I decided to investigate.

Any rock on the outside of the slide (not shown in the pic) is in disarray with no organization, nor have they been dug up...I just find it so cute that the rocks are out of the center and in a semi circle. It looks like a like a little nest. Or are our ducks just digging and the rocks happened to randomly fall like that

I also don't have a ton of shrubs or anything in the backyard, due to my dog chewing on them. So I guess this is a good "sheltered" hiding spot?

They currently lay great in the duck house even after they've been let out in the morning...

My ducks are great about laying in their house, except in the spring. Then, they like to send me on a daily egg hunt to find the hidden nest. So yes, one of yours may very well be making a nest. If you stop finding eggs in the duck house, you now know to check under the slide.
